HHC (Hexahyrdocannabinol) is one of the newer alternate cannabinoids that has hit the hemp and CBD market recently. With consumers pushing brands for the latest and greatest cannabinoid products, it is important that retailers stay ahead of the curve offering HHC and other potent alternate cannabinoids for their customers.

HHC is an intoxicating cannabinoid and users will report different effects from using HHC products. Typically, users are reporting that HHC is similar in potency to Delta 8 THC, but not quite as strong as Delta 9 THC. Each user is unique, but this is a general rule based on our customer feedback.

If a company is offering HHC concentrates for sale, you have to make sure that testing is part of the equation.

Chemically speaking, there are some differences in HHC and the more common cannabinoids like Delta 8 THC or Delta 9 THC. As a retail store owner, it is important that you’re educated about the differences so you can guide your customers to the right products. HHC, or Hexahyrdocannabinol, goes through a hydrogenation process that introduces a hydrogen molecule not present in your traditional Delta 9 THC. The HHC molecule is very similar in structure to THC which causes very similar psychoactive effects in the body when ingested.

It is widely accepted from consumers in anecdotal evidence (and several labs manufacturing HHC) that HHC concentrate is less potent that Delta 9 THC concentrate when comparing milligram per milligram. It comes down to the milligrams of HHC concentrate consumed and the tolerance of the user to determine the individual effects.

Most consumers report a general sense of euphoria, headiness, and relaxation when taking HHC, but there are users that find HHC to be a bit energetic when using a HHC vape cartridge or HHC disposable during the day. Although not as potent milligram per milligram compared to Delta 9 THC, we always recommend our retail partners guide their customers to start dosage low and ramp up, as needed. Just remember – When talking about the effects of any alternate cannabinoid, it will come down to several factors which ultimately end up at a unique experience per consumer.
